I’ve been to a few funerals. All of them included speeches/eulogies/life stories. T and I talked about it yesterday and both of us reported almost simultaneously that we don’t want to have a funeral. I don’t want teary speeches and my life story told. I don’t want people all drinking coffee and eating cookies in a stuffy room while everyone cries.
I want a party. Order pizza, grill burgers, eat cake, laugh! I don’t want a formal celebration. I want people to show up in jeans and whatever is comfortable. I want happy music playing, not sad funeral music.
I know that for the religious people out there, a funeral is necessary. I’m not bashing it for everyone, just saying it isn’t what I want. I’m so glad T and I are both on the same page.
